Whirling Mohandas

High on Paddleboard fumes (non-toxic and biodegradable), fearless fire whirler, Shadow Girl, praises the Mohandas with dance (and a bluegrass song about cocaine).

You can watch the whole four minute movie on youboobtube

Propping Ghandi

Celebration. Yes, the author disposed of paddleboard scraps in a post Festicle, creamation ceremony. Also celebrated was the recent discovery that Ghandi was a serial arsonist. Unbelievable..I know, it blew my mind too. Present at the event were the Three Headed Megadiah (top), Shadow Girl and Keg Boy.

Pelicans in Flight

This photo has nothing to do with paddleboards, but if you weren't paddling off the coast of Folly Beach, South Carolina at 4:55pm on January 20th, you may not have seen this.

Coastal Chucktown

Doc, I didn't even put two and two together; Charleston = Chucktown... brilliant. Here are some more from the weekend's paddle in coastal Chucktown. Some Pelicans buzzing the pier. A cold but happy Chuck (note standard issue Team Vespucci balaclava ). A super nice, late afternoon Folly sky... and, of course, the post paddle, self portraiture... taken just after a toothless bum on the beach told me I was wastin' my time... ain't no such thing as wasted time, you toothless drunk. And toothless bum, if you're a blogger - say cheese!

Flight of the Pelican

A little pelican air from a Tuesday evening paddle.

Tuesday Night Paddle

Pardon the grotesque over usage of photoshop and the self indulgent picture of the van - post paddle. But I do recommend viewing the use of a blower fan through the large bow hatch to dry out any possible internal moisture. Cheese.

Dolphin, Day Sky and a New Hatch

I finally got the Big Mac back in the water today. First time in 30 days and with three new hatches, she was as water tight as ever. Lots of dolphins out this afternoon and a nice sky before sunset.

Re-Fin, Rot and Revealing Roots

The Mac got a new fin, well it's the old fin before the rebuild, but it's the new fin now. I opened two new hatch holes to deal with ventilation. Something I forgot in the past year, the reason we use cedar is because it is, for the most part, ROT RESISTANT. Plywood is not. SO I had to open up the Mac to deal with an unprotected inside. Which brings us to the final photo which is of the inside of the Mac.

Fresh Cut Rails

Started a new 12' paddleboard today. Cut the rails from 3/4 inch cedar and it felt like home again. Jack got a hold of some pine scraps and I snagged this new year's day photo, of my beach, from the 10cam.
